Job Description Summary

The Law School actively pursues a more just and equitable society through pedagogical, programmatic, and direct legal service efforts. The Toll Public Interest Center (TPIC) sits at the core of these efforts. TPIC is home to the Law School's distinctive Pro Bono Program and oversees a wide array of public interest programming, including scholarship and fellow programs, advocacy skill development trainings, and educational and community-building efforts.

We are a passionate, mission-oriented team that works in a collaborative environment: while each of us manages an extensive list of individual responsibilities, we complete major projects as a team, maintain an open-door policy, and enjoy a mandate to generate and implement new ideas that benefit our students and the clients and communities they serve.

The Public Interest & Pro Bono Program Coordinator reports to the Executive Director of the Toll Public Interest Center and supports TPIC staff members to facilitate event planning, communication, and office administration.

Job Description

The Public Interest & Pro Bono Program Coordinator reports to the Executive Director of the Toll Public Interest Center and supports TPIC staff members to facilitate event planning,

communication, and office administration.

The responsibilities of the position include:

Event Planning and Event Support

Support TPIC colleagues in the logistics of planning, executing, and communicating about TPIC's many public interest and pro bono programs and events.
  • Serve as TPIC's point person with vendors and caterers.
  • Work closely with the Law School's facilities and events teams to ensure scheduling conflicts are avoided, rooms are reserved, and events are posted to internal and external calendars.
  • Attend Law School's regular event planning meetings.
  • Attend and support TPIC weekend retreats (one in the fall, one in the spring) and TPIC's evening events which take place several times during the academic year.


Office Management and Office Support

  • Serve as the first point of contact for TPIC's in-person visitors by greeting guests, fielding common questions, and giving an overview of TPIC's programs to prospective students.
  • Answer general TPIC emails.
  • Keep the TPIC office well supplied and functioning smoothly.
  • Serve as TPIC's ITS partner - communicating with ITS and handling all of TPIC's technology needs.
  • Help students to schedule meetings with TPIC staff members when needed.


Communication and Media Management

  • Oversee TPIC's newsletter.
  • Generate and disseminate event invitations.
  • Ensure TPIC's web content is accurate and regularly updated.
  • Manage TPIC's social media presence.
  • Work with Communications colleagues on larger publications.


Other Miscellaneous Responsibilities

QUALIFICATIONS:

The best candidate will be a civic-minded individual with exceptional writing, critical thinking, organizational, and administrative skills. HS and 5-7 years of experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. A B.A./B.S. is preferred. Applicants must be proficient in Microsoft Office products and have the ability to learn new computing programs with ease. Applicants must also be able to work independently, demonstrate initiative, effectively balance multiple tasks simultaneously, and work collaboratively in a service-oriented environment. We have a fun but busy workplace. We emphasize individual responsibility while requiring strong team support.
