Description
LHH is recruiting a legal assistant for the Cleveland Office of a national law firm. The Legal Assistant will support the Business team.Responsibilities:
- Provides skilled, proactive administrative support to assigned attorneys and other team members in the Business Practice Group
- Edits and proofreads complex documents, including proactive review for, and ability to relay, relevant discrepancies/inconsistencies.
- Clearly and professionally communicates with attorneys and other members of the legal team on projects, needs, transaction status, etc.
- Works with members of the legal team and accounting to gather costs and time in preparation for closing.
- Actively supports the billing process, including initial review and comment on BIMs, editing BIMs, obtaining, preparing and/or updating reports, preparing cover letters and/or emails, and following-up on client and attorney inquiries.
- Prepares and reviews letters and memoranda according to Firm standards.
- Displays strong attention to detail and numeric aptitude.
- Anticipates necessary tasks/projects and proactively performs them.
- Responds to requestswith a sense of urgency and effectively prioritizes work.
- Demonstrates flexibility and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Proactively monitors and communicates deadlines to the legal team as appropriate.
- Creates, maintains, and retires files in accordance with the Firm's Information Governance Policy.
- Assists in managing client contacts, emails, print documents and incoming and outgoing mail.
- May enter time into billing management software.
- 2+ years Legal Assistant experience strongly preferred.
- Must demonstrate proficient command of the English language and standard grammar rules.
- Demonstrates strong working knowledge of, and experience in, using Microsoft Office programs; must have a desire to maintain excellent technical skills and to learn new software by taking advantage of internal training programs.
Pay Details: $60,000.00 to $80,000.00 per year
